\nThe Fergus Falls Otters Boys and Girls Basketball teams will be &ldquo\;Shootin&rsquo\; for a Cure&rdquo\; when they host a double header against Willmar for their Cancer Awareness night on Friday\, February 5th at the Kennedy Secondary School gymnasium.
\n\nThe varsity girls matchup is slated for 6:00pm followed by boys basketball action at 7:30.
\n\nSeveral fundraising and awareness events are planned for the night including raffles for several theme gift baskets including Spa\, Date Night\, Family Fun Night\, Teenage\, Mexican and Baking themes. There will also be opportunities to sponsor a player or team by donating money for each point scored that night to the Cancer Center. You can buy those sponsorships at the game or talk to your favorite player any time before the 5th. A &ldquo\;Wall of Honor&rdquo\; will be displayed in the hallway outside the gym giving fans the opportunity to honor loved ones touched by cancer for a free-will donation. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink or purple to the games as a show of support for the local fight against cancer and there will be custom &ldquo\;Shootin for a Cure&rdquo\; t-shirts available for sale at the games as well.
\n\nAll proceeds from this event will go directly to the Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Care and Research Center in Fergus Falls and will be designated to the Survivorship Fund to help ease financial burdens for patients in active treatment at the cancer center. \;
