SUMMARY:Earth Day at the Prairie
DESCRIPTION:This event will run from 10 am - 2 pm and will include family friendly activities such as face painting\, family hike (10:00)\, paper making\, collage making\, and Otter Cove activities including seed bombs\, a sensory table and story time. There will be an EV car show that runs from 10-12:30\, and two food trucks (Lone Pine Soup Company and Peney Cakes Cupcakery)! At 10:00 and 11:00\, Lori Moxness from Otter Tail Power will present\, "Empower Your Home: Saving Money While Saving the Planet\," which will give attendees information on all of the many tax incentives and rebates now available on home energy saving measures. Also at 10:00 and 11:00\, Kelly Amoth from the MPCA will be talking about "Loving Our Lakes to Death" and will focus on loons\, lead tackle and water quality. At 12:15\, Macy Gustavus from Beyond Plastics will be speaking on\,"Plastics: Where Do They Come From and Where Do They Go?" The day will conclude with a nature walk with Molly Stoddard and Jacob McArthur on the book\, Braiding Sweetgrass\, which will run from 1:30-3:30.
