SUMMARY:M State Spartan Homecoming Pregame Tailgating & Tribute to Geneva Eschweiler
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join alumni\, retired faculty and staff\, and our students in the Homecoming pre-game tailgating and to cheer on the Spartans when they take the field against NDSCS at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday September 28.\n\n \n\nTailgating begins at 12:30 p.m.\, with brats\, hotdogs\, chips and drinks provided by Service Food. A freewill donation will benefit Fergus Area College Foundation. There will also be yard games and other fun!\n\n \n\nSome of the folks we have heard will be in attendance include Carrie ('95-97) and Matt ('90-92) Brimhall\, Kevin King ('87-89)\, Stacey (Boese) Herbel\, Lori (Hanson) Larson ('92-94)\, and Jacki (Hansen) Maethner ('88-90). Others often sited at Homecoming include emeriti\, like Jean McKenzie\, and retired staff\, Pam Phillips. Let us know if you are planning on being there so we can let alumni know.\n\n \n\nTo add more to this great day\, there will be a tribute to Geneva Eschweiler in the evening. A reception will begin at 6 PM and in Legacy Hall followed by a concert at 7 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe performance will feature nearly 40 singers\, including musicians who performed with Eschweiler over the years as part of the Geneva Eschweiler Singers\, the M State Chamber Chorale and her Mad Jazz group. Performers also will include Eschweiler's grandchildren and David Evan Thomas\, the composer of a commissioned piece for Eschweiler's college choir.\n\n \n\nAdmission is free and open to the public. There will be a free-will donation opportunity benefiting the choral program through the Fergus Area College Foundation in memory of Geneva.\n\n\n\nCollege homecoming has a rich tradition   it's an engaging celebration if you're attending college\, and for graduates it's a wonderful time to "come home\," reminisce and see former classmates and instructors.
