DESCRIPTION:NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING\n\nLocal Option Sales and Use Tax for Transportation\n\n \n\nNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of Otter Tail County has scheduled a public hearing at 10:00 am\, Tuesday\, September 8\, 2015 in the County Board Room\, Otter Tail County Government Services Center\, 520 West Fir Avenue\, Fergus Falls\, MN to consider the implementation of the Local Transportation Sales and Use Tax pursuant to MN Statutes 297A.993 and 297A.99 to be dedicated to Otter Tail County highway preservation and improvement projects as listed in the draft Otter Tail County 2016-2025 Transportation Program.\n\nThe draft Otter Tail County 2016-2025 Transportation Program is available for review on the Otter Tail County website:  www.co.otter-tail.mn.us/1126/transportation-plan. \n\nThe Local Sales and Use Tax for Transportation allows a County outside of the metropolitan transportation area by County Board resolution following a public hearing to consider implementing (1) a transportation sales and use tax up to one half of one percent on retail sales and (2) an excise tax of $20.00 per motor vehicle purchased or acquired from any person that is in the at a retail business of selling motor vehicles at retail occurring within the County. \n\nAll interested persons may appear and be heard at the public hearing either orally or in writing\, or may file written comments with the County Public Works Director/County Engineer prior to the public hearing.\n\nFor questions regarding the Local Transportation Sales and Use Tax for Otter Tail County 2016-2025 Transportation Program\, contact Richard West\, Public Works Director/County Engineer\, 505 South Court Street\, Suite 1\, Fergus Falls\, MN 56537\, Phone:  218-998-8473\, \n\nEmail: rwest@co.ottertail.mn.us.
