SUMMARY:Workplace Wellness Town Meeting for Employers
DESCRIPTION:Employers across Minnesota recognize the value of worksite wellness programs and Fergus Falls has been selected as a high-achieving wellness community whose best practices will be showcased at a Town Meeting September 16.\n\n \n\nIn wellness circles\, Fergus Falls is always identified as top-tier\, according to Tom Mason\, president of the Twin Cities-based Alliance. "It has deep capabilities and a high functioning health community that emphasizes collaboration. A lot of communities have a lot to learn from Fergus." Essential to that success has been the willingness of the Chamber to serve as a catalyst\," Mason added. "Worksite wellness doesn't work without significant buy-in from employers. No chamber shows a better sense of partnership with public health than Fergus Falls."\n\n \n\nThe Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and local health organizations will host a community-wide Town Meeting to showcase such "Best Practices" on Wednesday\, September 16 at Lakes Country Service Cooperative from 8:00-9:30am. "Employers\, especially smaller businesses\, are looking for community allies and 'Best Practices' to start or sustain their own wellness programs\," said Lisa Workman\, Executive Director of the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Business owners\, General Managers and HR Professionals who attend the Town Meeting will identify a variety of best practices that can be adapted by employers of all sizes. \n\n \n\nPanelists so far include Brittany Nelson from Lake Region HealthCare and Jane Eastes from Lake Country Service Cooperative.
