For 14 years in a row, Vera Carp has won the annual Christmas Yard Display Contest in Tuna, the third-smallest town in Texas. But this year the mysterious Christmas Phantom, known for vandalizing yard displays, threatens to throw the contest into disarray.
Come enjoy the ensuing chaos and the comedy as the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Theatre Department presents “A Tuna Christmas,” both an affectionate commentary and a critical satire on small-town Southern life and attitudes.
Eight M State actors will play the 25 colorful characters in “A Tuna Christmas,” including Cassie Zimmer of Clarissa; Christine Harrington, Angel Fleming, Austin Begley and Jamie Olsen of Fergus Falls; Ethan Quill of Becker; Jeanne Lindstrom of Cokato; and Madicyn Monsrud of Roseau.
Directed by Stefanie Gerhardson, performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4; 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5; and 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 9-11.
Tickets are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults, and $7 in advance and $8 at the door for students. Advance tickets are available in the M State Box Office, by calling 218.736.1600 or online at mstatetickets.com.
