The current exhibition at the Gallery explores the beauty of the northern forest that is in transition due to climate change and other factors disturbing the ecology of the Boreal Forest that cross the upper regions of North America. For this project the artists consulted with Lee Frelich, Ph. D., Forest Ecologist at the University of Minnesota, to identify 10 tress at risk for disappearing from the northern woods.
On Thursday evening Dr. Frelich will discuss some of the factors changing the forests (including the European Earthworm), and also touch on recent changes to the Lake Agassiz Plain. The botanical artists will also be talking about their work and processes.
This event is free and open to everyone!
