Intro to the Art of Wood Carving (pre-register)

Carving is a lifelong hobby that can be learned at any age. In this beginning level, hands-on workshop, each session will include a carving project that will teach attendees about the carving tools, wood types, knife safety, basic painting, and the variety of carving techniques unique to this art form. Carving projects will include items such as a canoe paddle, heart, tree, mounted shorebird, cross, gnome, eagle head, comfort bird, and/or etc. The fee includes a starter carving tool set and wood blanks. Students, ages 16 and over, will gain the knowledge and confidence to create wood art pieces on their own. Class dates: Oct. 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 - 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
