The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota's traveling exhibition Minnesota's 10 Most Endangered Properties is currently on display at the Otter Tail County Historical Museum. An open house will be held on Monday, December 5, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. We encourage people to visit the display and see Myron Broschat's noon program on the Battle of the Bulge. Apple cider and cookies will be available.
Since 1995, the Alliance has compiled an annual list of the state's most threatened historic buildings, sites and structures. Included in the 2011 list is the Fergus Falls State Hospital. The goal of the 10 Most Endangered Properties is to raise awareness and focus public attention on favorable outcomes that can be achieved through a preservation approach.
Along with the exhibit, information from the Friends of the Kirkbride is included. With the fate of the State Hospital hanging in the balance it is imperative people understand the historic and architectural significance of this National Register site.
