Exhibit by Photographer Jon Solinger at Fergus Falls Public Library
If a photo is worth 1,000 words, then the merging of words AND photography by Jon Solinger is an exhibit not to miss. From September 17 – October 31, the Pelican Rapids native shares “Natural Dialogues,” a Collaborative Exhibit at the Fergus Falls Public Library.
The body of work features an in-depth look at nine residents from the region, exploring their relationship with nature. “I chose these nine participants because they have something to say about cultivating an intentional relationship with the natural world through gardening, foraging or another path that brings them closer to our living planet,” said Solinger. The participants contributed the writing, focusing on their own experiences. Those stories sparked the inspiration for the creative portraits around which the exhibit is built.
An opening reception will be Tuesday, October 8 from 4-7 p.m. at the Fergus Falls Public Library. This exhibit is free and open to the public.
Solinger received his BA in art with a photography emphasis from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He resides in Lida Township, Otter Tail County Minnesota, maintaining a studio there and working as the third-generation owner of Solinger’s Resort on Lake Lida. He is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
