Run4Rural - Candidate Workshop

Attend the Run4Rural training program designed for people interested in growing and strengthening their local communities through elected office and other forms of public leadership. This non-partisan training will be useful for existing and emerging rural leaders and people active in their community, whether or not they have decided to run for office. Erik Peterson, President of Bending the Arc Strategies facilitates the training.
Training is ideal for those thinking about or registered to run for:
- Township Board
- City Council
- School Board
- County Commissioner
- Sheriff
- State Representative
- State Senate
Training topics include:
- Understanding what’s at stake in our communities and the role local elections play
- Finding personal motivation and the right position to serve
- Communicating through stories and shared values
- Implementing community engagement strategies and refining messaging to bring the community together
- Fundraising techniques for those who do not consider themselves rich
