Region 4 School Based Mental Health Professional
Lakes Country Service Cooperative (LCSC) is seeking a Minnesota DHS certified School Based Mental Health Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team environment where collaboration, communication, and adaptability are key to the success of the team and the students. This position will provide direct services to several school districts and LCSC school programs in LCSC’s nine county region. It supports student well-being by offering assessment, therapy, connecting students and families to community mental health resources, and consultation to school staff.
This position is eligible for flexible workday scheduling and intermittent remote work considerations depending upon regional partner needs. Weekly regional travel is expected. This is a 182-day position beginning with the 2025-26 school year. The start date is August 18, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Student Services: The Region 4 School Based Mental Health Professional will work with Region 4 school districts and programs to provide direct mental health services to students in participating school districts through in-person and virtual sessions.
- Consultation & Collaboration: This role supports student well-being by offering assessment, therapy, connecting students and families to community mental health resources, and consultation to school staff.
- Clinical Supervision of School Based Mental Health Practitioners: This position may include clinical supervision of mental health practitioners as requested, ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with best practices and ethical standards.
- Fully qualified as a Mental Health Professional under the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) with a Master’s degree or higher and licensed as one of the following: Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Psychiatric or Osteopathic Physician, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or a clinical trainee in one of the categories above.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Department of Human Services requirements, clinical childhood mental health disorders, and policies and procedures for therapy in education programs.
- Ability to collaborate with regional partners including school districts, community resources, and families.
- Regular travel required to Region 4 school districts based on student and district needs (approximately 3 to 5 days per week).
- Must be able to maintain a valid drivers’ license and a safe driving record.
- Working understanding of special education evaluation and IEP service delivery options in a public school system.
- Experience working within public school systems to deliver mental health services, experience with clinical documentation such as child/adolescent diagnostic assessments, and familiar with community and county resources for children's mental health.
