2023 Senior Showcase Signing Day
Fergus Falls Senior Showcase Signing Day May 8
It will be an exciting day for graduating seniors on Monday, May 8 at the 2nd Annual Senior Showcase Signing Day sponsored by the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Seniors will gather in the auditorium and will be called on stage to sign their official "Certificate of Intent" marking the next step after high school. They will be videoed, have photos taken, and be cheered on by classmates. “This is an opportunity to honor all seniors who’ve completed 13 years of education and recognizing their next steps after high school,” said Fergus Falls High School (FFHS) Principal Mark Anderson.
As a school district focused on career and college readiness, FFHS and the Chamber want to recognize each senior equally for what they’re looking forward to after high school. Some students will continue their education at a technical school, community college, or a traditional 4-year college, while some will enter the military and others will enter the workforce immediately. “Each of their choices are important and should be celebrated,” said Chamber President Lisa Workman. “There are so many career opportunities today for a variety of backgrounds and skills. Students can follow many paths to reach their goals and dreams. Many careers don’t require a six-figure investment in tuition.”
Senior Showcase Signing Day will take place from 8:20-9:30am in the Kennedy Secondary School Auditorium and at the Area Learning Center at 9:45am. Family members are invited and should check-in at the district office. Last year, 90 students were recognized at the Signing Day, and this year more than 170 students will be recognized.
This event is hosted by Fergus Falls High School and sponsored by Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce members: Lake Region Healthcare, Leighton Broadcasting, Otter Tail Power Co., and Vector Windows.
