Americana
Please join us for an afternoon of American chamber music! Paul Schoenfield's Four Souvenirs for Flute and Piano borrows familiar rhythms and tunes from the Broadway musical and American popular music, swirled together in his own unmistakable style. John Harbison's San Antonio Sonata conjures the sights, sounds, and sensations of a traveler on a journey. And like many composers before him, Russ Peterson wanted to play chamber music with his good friends Jay & Deb, but couldn't find anything good written for his ensemble. The solution: he composed his own virtuosic Trio for Piano, Flute & Saxophone!
