Annual Courthouse Lunch/Band Concert
One of county’s enduring traditions is back. The Historical Society hosts the annual Courthouse Lunch/Band Concert on Tuesday, July 9, noon, on the front lawn of the historic Otter Tail County Courthouse.
Sit back and enjoy a mid-day summer break while enjoying lunch from the Carlisle French 4-H and the traditional marches of the Carlisle Band. This summer’s event has added importance as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the June 22, 1919 Fergus Falls cyclone.
The tornado swept away the top two floors of the 1879 courthouse. The county operated in makeshift quarters until the present courthouse was completed nearly three years later. The Beaux Arts style building is a perfect backdrop for an event that is an anecdote for the digital age.
Bring a blanket or chair and stop by to visit George Myers, who will once again be holding court for an event that is a “pure slice of Americana.”
