Chamber Event -- Fergus Falls Business Gives Recognition

“Fergus Falls Area Business Gives” is an excellent way for businesses to receive recognition from their peers and their community for the many contributions they make to their local community. Businesses will be recognized during the luncheon at the Business & Community Expo on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Bigwood Event Center.

 

Businesses are recognized for giving cash and/or in-kind contributions to charitable organizations amounting to 2 percent or more of their pretax earnings. The program is based on the Minnesota Keystone Program™ Standard, criteria established in 1976 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce.

 

Best of all, because recognition is based on the percent of income given in cash and in-kind donations, a small business that gives $1,000 each year can receive the same recognition as one that contributes $10,000.

 

Your business can participate each year by completing a participation form and submitting it to the Chamber office by January 22, 2010. Forms are available via email, fax or mail.

 

In addition to being recognized in our local community, each business will receive a letter of thanks and congratulations from the Governor of Minnesota.

 

As part of the Fergus Falls Business Gives Program, the Chamber hosted the class “Strategies for Smart Giving” in October where members learned “When to Say Yes and How to Say No.”
