Chamber Member Benefits Academy (MBA) - How to Engage Youth
The Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce is offering a new program: Chamber Member Benefits Academy (MBA) which offers members a mixture of business-to-business networking, valuable content from a local expert, and a dash of “secret Chamber sauce” served with a light lunch. Training topics include workforce recruitment strategies, human resources tips, financials, workplace concerns, leadership, and much more. Chamber MBA will take place on the second Wednesday of each month in our meeting room.
Wednesday, March 8 will feature Amy Johnson from Cardinal Consulting Solutions who will share with you how to engage youth in your workforce.
The future workforce is an eager talent pool that is too often untapped. Working with a green pool of talent may not be like hitting the easy button. But what is easy in the world of recruiting these days? Engaging with area High Schools today will make recruiting easier tomorrow. There are 3,500 high school students in Otter Tail County that will be entering our workforce in the next four years. Many are ready for part-time work today! Many are interested in summer employment!
We are aware that there are twice as many job openings as available workers. We’ve heard about the great resignation, early retirements, housing shortages, and the childcare crisis. Let’s compare these challenges with this talent pool. Our future workforce is motivated to explore careers. They are not looking for housing or childcare, and they are on the opposite side of retirement. Learn expert tips and let us help you engage the future workforce. You will leave this training with realistic and sustainable methods to help rebuild your workforce pipeline.
