Head Start Licensing Coordinator

is actively seeking a dedicated Head Start Licensing Coordinator to oversee the implementation and ongoing compliance with licensing regulations in our center-based settings. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to all licensing rules, conduct regular assessments, and collaborate with staff to maintain high standards of operation. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $28.39 - $29.91
Schedule: Non-Exempt, Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, full time, year-round with reduced summer hours & two one-week layoffs spread over the program year
Remote Work: Possible One Day Per Week Remote, may travel within our 5-county area (Mahnomen, Hubbard, Becker, Otter Tail, and Wadena)

Requirements
Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in area to be coordinated (health, education, mental health or family services) or a combination of education and experience. 
  • Five years of experience in delivery of comprehensive services for families with children ages birth-5 years including planning, organizing, and supervisory skills; or a demonstrated ability to fulfill the job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of health, mental health, nutrition, family systems, early childhood development, and developmentally appropriate practices.  
  • Must be able to make decisions relating to program operations. 
  • Knowledge and ability to develop an effective working relationship with partners.
  • Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal relationship skills as well as the ability to be resourceful, flexible, adaptable, and demonstrate commitment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to train parents and staff as well as the ability to express/exchange ideas and provide instructions to staff, clients, and the public.  
  • Must be able and willing to make home visits.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required. 
  • Must possess computer skills including, but not limited to, email, internet, data entry, and computer files.
  • Must be able to honor private/confidential information.
  • Must be able to engage in problem resolution, assess need/problem objectively, and manage crisis situations. 
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License, vehicle insurance, good driving record, and willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.  
  • Background clearance required.
  • Maintain positive attitude, exhibit professionalism and respect in working and communicating with Head Start staff, families, children and community partners. Work to develop a positive team approach to meeting the needs of children and families.
