Special Education Paraprofessional - Fergus Falls

We are growing and hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to begin immediately.  The successful candidate will work in our Fergus Falls Lakes Country Academy (LCA) location with K-12th grade students as part of our Setting IV special education program.  LCA provides highly effective social skills training and highly accountable behavioral/academic programs for students with ASD and EBD disabilities in a structured setting. The workday is in person, and typically 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.,180 days per year.

Experience working with students with challenging behavior is preferred, but not necessary to apply. We are looking for patient individuals who enjoy working with students and who work well with others. LCA is committed to the support and growth of our employees. On-the-job training is provided.
Required qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 60 accumulated post-secondary credits, or a completed Associated Degree, OR,
  • Candidates may substitute a  passing score on either the Paraeducator or ParaPro exam for the post-secondary credits.   The exam may be taken after hire.  It must be passed within 30 days of hire for continued employment.
