Part-Time with Opportunity for Full-Time

Job Summary

We are a locally owned waste and recycling company seeking a dependable and safety-focused Garbage Truck Driver to join our team. This position will start part-time with the opportunity to move into full-time based on performance, reliability, and route needs. The ideal candidate is punctual, hardworking, and takes pride in serving the local community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a garbage or recycling truck on assigned residential and/or commercial routes
  • Collect trash and recycling containers efficiently and responsibly
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the truck
  • Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Report vehicle issues, route concerns, or safety hazards promptly
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

 

Schedule

  • Part-time to start
  • Morning routes with consistent scheduling. Monday-Wednesday and Friday route departure from shop at 5 am, shop days on Thursdays for deliveries, roll-offs, maintenance on equipment.
  • Opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or required depending on route; training may be available)
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Strong time management and reliability
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Prior waste, delivery, or driving experience is a plus but not required
