As we begin the new year, we reflect on the incredible journey of Fergus Home & Hardware and some of the individuals who have shaped our success. This month, we spotlight our owners, Eric and Kari Nelson, along with Tara Johnson.

Eric & Kari Nelson – Owners

Together, Eric and Kari Nelson form the backbone of Fergus Home & Hardware, combining their unique strengths to lead with vision and care. Eric is actively involved in daily operations and his hands-on approach inspires the team and sets a high standard for excellence. He is a strategic thinker, focused on growth, exceeding customer expectations, and always ready to lend support wherever it is needed. Behind the scenes, Kari lends her support to the team with decision-making and other miscellaneous operations. Together, Eric and Kari exemplify teamwork, leadership, and dedication.

Tara Johnson – Accountant

Tara Johnson is the financial mind ensuring our operations stay on track. Her attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are invaluable. Tara is a reliable team player, always willing to assist others, and a financial strategist, expertly managing budgets and reports. Her guidance, leadership, and dedication has helped shape Fergus Home & Hardware into the trusted business it is today. 

Fun Fact

Tara and Kari’s friendship started over 35 years ago when two little girls bonded over their love of horses. Twenty-eight years ago, Tara introduced Eric and Kari and as they say, the rest is history. Life was meant for great friends and great adventures and this friendship has certainly lived up to that!
