PEP RALLY DAY - Otter Dash - PTO

2019 OTTER DASH what you need to know:
• The Otter Dash is the main fundraiser for the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Funds raised will be used for enhancing literacy, fine arts, and STEM initiatives in our elementary schools. See below for examples of how PTO spends the money raised from fundraisers. Our goal is to raise $25,000!
• The fundraiser starts off with a Pep Rally and concludes with the Otter Dash Fun Run. During these ten days, classrooms are visited by Boosterthon team members where they embark on the Mind Spark Mystery Lab adventure learning about character traits such as integrity, grit, and teamwork.
• Money is raised through pledges that students collect from friends, family and community members. This is done primarily online, but cash pledges are also accepted.
• Every student (kindergarten through 4th grade) will participate in the Otter Dash and receive a FREE race shirt that they will wear during the Otter Dash - even if they choose not to participate in raising funds.
• The PTO chose this fundraiser because it is FUN, all kids are able to participate, kids don’t have to go door to door selling catalog items, and the focus character development.

What the PTO funded this year: Brought the Climb Theatre to each of the elementary schools Helped send the K-1st grade students to Dance and Dessert Birthday Books for all McKinley students Brought the Science Museum to each of the elementary schools Lego WeDo kits for Adams iPads for 3rd grade Guided reading books for Cleveland McKinley Benchmark assessment A to Z reading subscriptions Sent students K-3rd grade to Dragons Love Tacos at A Center for the Arts And more!

We are projected to distribute over $26,000 during the 2018-2019 school year!
