FERGUS HOME & HARDWARE – APPLIANCE SALES ASSOCIATE
Locally owned, family run business seeking full-time Appliance Sales Associate for our Store. Fergus Home & Hardware is dedicated to providing our customers with quality products and expert advice. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Appliance Sales Associate to join our team.
 
LOCATION:             Fergus Falls, Minnesota
 
JOB SUMMARY:
Appliance Sales Associates greet customers and assist customers in selecting and purchasing a wide range of household appliances. This includes demonstrating the features and benefits of various models, installation options, maintaining up-to-date product knowledge, and processing orders and payments. Providing excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale, resolving any inquiries or concerns, collaborating with the sales team to achieve sales goals, maintain the sales floor, and manage inventory.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Greet customers and provide assistance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, visually appealing and organized sales floor.
• Clean and stock merchandise and assist with display organization.
• Assist customers with product selection, product availability, pricing, and special orders.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge to answer customer questions.
• Assist with inventory management tasks, receiving, and counting products.
• Handling customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain products based on customer needs and wants.
• Provide estimates of products to potential customers.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently both cash and credit.
• Prepare merchandise for delivery.
• Assist coworkers with handling and loading appliances into customer vehicles.
• Assist with delivery and installation of customer appliances.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of plumbing and electrical wiring or willingness to attend training.
• Punctuality.
• Regular scheduled attendance.
• Work every other Saturday.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn about products and stay up to date on store promotions.
• Accurately use computer software and process payments for purchase using the point-of-sale system.
• Attend and participate in yearly sales training and product knowledge training.
• Manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds, carry, and move merchandise, and appliances safely.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in sales or customer-based employment.
• Knowledge of computers and electronics to use point-of-sale system.
• Knowledge and ability to operate material handling equipment such as strap carts, shoulder harnesses, two-wheeled carts, and other material handling equipment.
