FERGUS HOME & HARDWARE – HARDWARE SALES ASSOCIATE
Locally owned, family run business seeking full-time Sales Associate for our Hardware Store. Fergus Home & Hardware is dedicated to providing our customers with quality products and expert advice. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Sales Associate to join our team.
 
LOCATION: Fergus Falls, Minnesota
 
JOB SUMMARY:
Hardware Sales Associates greet customers, assist with purchases, answer questions, and handle returns. Maintain the sales floor, manage inventory, and collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets. This role involves customer interaction, both before, and during the sale, ensuring a positive experience for customers.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Greet customers and provide assistance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, visually appealing and organized sales floor.
• Clean and stock shelves with merchandise and assist with display organization.
• Assist customers with product selection, product availability, pricing, and special orders.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge to answer customer questions.
• Assist with inventory management tasks, receiving and counting products.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and wants.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently both cash and credit.
• Prepare merchandise for purchase or rental.
• Assist customers with carrying large or multiple items to their vehicle.
• Assist coworkers with handling and loading large items into customer vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Work every other Saturday.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds, carry, and move merchandise, products, furniture, etc., safely.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols for handling any hazardous materials, products, or equipment.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in sales or customer-based employment.
• Knowledge of computers and electronics to use point-of-sale system.
• Knowledge and ability to operate material handling equipment such as strap carts, shoulder harnesses, two-wheeled carts, and other material handling equipment.
