$10,000 Hole-in-One and American Federal Bank's Double Win Highlight ''Blackjack & Birdies'' Scramble

Golfer Aces #15 for Ten Grand
Luck was definitely "in the air" at the 21st Annual Fergus Falls Chamber "Blackjack & Birdies" Golf Scramble on Thursday, August 20, at Pebble Lake Golf Club. The event saw a historic hole-in-one and a dominating performance from a local bank’s team.

Lane Rogers, playing for the Big Chief Cafe team, made history on the par-3 #15, sinking his tee shot to win the $10,000 cash prize from new sponsor Capital City Construction & Remediation. “In our 21-year history of this event, that’s about 59,000 attempts, nobody has ever hit a hole-in-one,” said Chamber President Lisa Workman.

Rogers' historic ace was the highlight of the day, but it wasn’t his only impressive shot. He nearly made it a "two-fer" on hole #8, landing just eight feet from the hole where a 2025 Chevy Equinox from Minnesota Motor Co. was up for grabs.

American Federal Bank Sweeps Top Spots
While Rogers was grabbing headlines, American Federal Bank’s teams were quietly dominating the tournament. Across a field of 32 teams, the bank swept the top two spots.
First Place went to American Federal Bank Team 2, which included Chad Landmann, Cameron Rittenour, Thomas Bosek, and Jason Drouillard.
Second Place was secured by American Federal Bank Team 1, with members Dustin Morris, Gary Haffley, Kip Funkhouser, and Travis Martinson.
Rounding out the top three was Quality Toyota's team, which included Dan Karst, Erick Swanson, “Soup,” and John Toso.

The annual scramble serves as the Fergus Falls Chamber’s single fundraiser, supporting its mission to be the lead advocate and resource for local businesses.
