Fergus Falls State of the Community Made Us ''Community Proud''
It was a fantastic day at the Fergus Falls State of the Community event on November 14 at the Bigwood Event Center.
We handed out 42 plaques for Business Gives (pictured) - honoring for-profit businesses that donated 2% or more of their pre-tax earnings to the surrounding community. Thank you to all of these generous businesses.
Lee Rogness, Otter Tail County Commissioner for District 5, was given special recognition for serving in the commissioner role for the past 16 years.
Kelly Asche from the Center for Rural Policy Development spoke about how rural communities can thrive and be successful. Key factors affecting residential recruitment and retention migration changes in and out of our county were shared. Overall, Otter Tail County has many assets to attract people to our county and we are on the right track. Otter Tail Lakes Country Association was praised for promoting the county.
We appreciate everyone who attended this event and look forward to next year. We are proud of the work happening in our community and county!
