Owner Blayze Buseth has been creating art for the past 13 years and opened his local art gallery and pottery studio space in 2021. He opened Creation Shop in downtown Fergus Falls at 119 N Mill St and has offered more than 500 workshops in the 3 years he’s been open.
Creation Shop offers a range of workshops for individuals, groups, and special events. Whether you’re looking to enhance your artistic skills or have a fun and memorable experience, Buseth’s workshops suit all levels of expertise. A variety of children’s and adult workshops are offered monthly. The most popular is an Intro to Pottery Wheel class booked as a private family/team-building workshop.
When Buseth was young, he started drawing cartoon characters, including Tom, a blue ball of clay. Tom is a whimsical character with a sense of adventure and a playful personality. In 2019, Buseth met with someone from Pixar, who inspired him to bring Tom to life since cartoons can connect with our emotions. Tom now serves as the mascot for the Creation Shop.
Buseth traveled to China and images of his experiences came to life through Tom. He also took a short trip to India last year and plans on taking Tom on a bigger adventure in 2025 by returning to India and participating in a 70-day artist residency program.
Buseth created a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to take Tom’s Adventure to India. His goal was to raise $17,500 by Sunday, October 27 and he was able to achieve this goal and exceed it with everyone’s help! As of October 28, $19,323 was pledged for Buseth’s trip. He extends a huge thank you to everyone who donated!

Owner Don Martin has years of experience painting and officially opened his painting business in 2022.
Martin does interior and exterior painting, staining, and minor drywall repairs. Bishop William C. Alexander greatly influenced Martin in his painting business. When he was young, Martin helped build the church walls and painted the interior and exterior of the church he grew up in alongside Alexander. He learned so much from Alexander.
Martin tries to be open and honest with everyone he meets. Integrity is essential in his business; because of this quality, Martin receives many customer referrals. His motto is, “Work like you are doing it for yourself.”
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Martin first visited Fergus Falls while attending college at M State in 2010. He met his fiancée Chelsey while attending school here. The pair returned to Michigan where they both attended school. Chelsey received a job offer in Fergus Falls, so the Martins returned to Minnesota. The Fergus Falls area is a natural fit and has become home to them.

Owner Alex Denzel officially opened her new business at 124 E Lincoln Ave, Fergus Falls on October 1, 2024. Previously she owned Lash Lounge, but Denzel has expanded the services offered in her new space.
Beauty Lounge has multiple independently owned businesses operating under the umbrella of Beauty Lounge. Some of the services offered are: four eyelash technicians (this is Denzel’s specialty – other technicians include Just Beauty by Jo, AH Lashes, Starry Eyed Lashes by Alise), Blissful by Brooke and Skin Care by Lynn Marie (estheticians offering skin care services, waxing, chemical lash and brow services), Nailed It by Linds (nail technician), Whit Aesthetics (aesthetic nurses doing chemical peels, laser services, fillers), Elements Medical Spa from Perham (offering health and wellness products/services), and in January 3B Permanent Makeup will be added to the offerings.
Before opening Lash Lounge, Denzel was a registered nurse at a nursing home. In 2021, she and her husband Ry knew they wanted more flexibility and planned to start a family soon. Denzel enjoyed getting her eyelashes done and realized that there wasn’t anyone specializing in this service locally at the time. She grew her first business by adding three lash technicians at Lash Lounge before moving to her new location and expanding offerings at Beauty Lounge. She is excited to see where her business will go in the future.
Denzel and her husband have put a lot of time and effort into the space her business now occupies. The space has been beautifully renovated! Stop by and see it for yourself if you missed their open house.
